The Good-Night Guide for Children
pdf, 1.5 MB
This guide is all about sleep and beds relating to children and teenagers.
Typically we spend about a third of our life in bed, some of us more! A sound night’s sleep means you wake up refreshed, recharged and ready to face the day ahead. A good night’s sleep won’t cost the earth, typically less than the cost of a daily newspaper.
We often find that our clients visit us after having a much better sleep in a different bed, e.g. whilst on holiday or staying with a family member.
The ‘Sleep Council’ recommends that mattresses are changed every 5-7 years. Therefore you could be sleeping on a worn out mattress and not get the best night’s sleep, without noticing straight away.
The Sleep Council has an excellent website with lots of useful information including informative leaflets and guides. The Sleep Council is funded by the ‘National Bed Federation’, the trade association for British bed manufacturers. Established since 1995, it is the consumer education arm that aims to:
- Raise awareness of the importance of a good night’s sleep to health and wellbeing.
- Provide helpful advice and tips on how to improve sleep quality.
- Provide helpful advice on choosing the right bed for optimum sleeping comfort.
The Sleep Council focuses on giving advice and guidance on healthy sleep habits, but are not experts or specialists in the fields of sleep disorders or insomnia.
